With the latest firmware version of the gateway, new configuration options are available for users in the web app. Parameters such as the detection threshold for charging sessions or the buffer time after the end of a charging session can now be set online in the Charge Repay Service. This allows the detection of charging sessions to be perfectly tailored to your use case.
Threshold: Precise detection of your charging sessions
Charging sessions are identified by a specific threshold. When this threshold is exceeded, the charging session begins. However, some wallbox models have such high self-consumption that the threshold is never undershot, and the detection of charging sessions does not work reliably. To prevent this, users can now set this value individually.
Buffer time: Flexibility for uninterrupted charging
During a charging session, the vehicle does not always draw power continuously. When unlocking the car, if something is forgotten inside, or when pausing charging sessions during PV surplus charging, small interruptions can occur. To prevent these from leading to a new billing process each time, there is a buffer time. This is the time that is waited after the end of a charging session before it is transmitted as completed. If power is drawn again within the buffer time, the ongoing session continues. Depending on the use case and especially in combination with surplus charging systems, users’ preferences for the length of the buffer time can vary greatly. Therefore, it is now possible to configure this in the Charge Repay Service.
Configuration via the Charge Repay Service
To configure, the settings area in the Charge Repay Service web app can be accessed. Under “Gateway Settings,” the described configurations can be found. The Charge Repay Gateway adopts the configuration directly from the cloud upon startup. A restart is necessary after changing the settings.
